Welcome to The Independent Home. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website at independenthomeplan.com (the “Site”) and the products and reports we offer (the “Services”). By using the Site or purchasing a report, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
The Independent Home offers a home-safety self-assessment (the “Independence Audit”) and a personalized written report (the “Independence Blueprint”) that summarizes potential risks in a home and suggests general improvements. The audit and report are educational and informational only. They are based solely on the answers you provide and are not an in-person inspection of your home.
Our content is not medical, health, financial, legal, engineering, or construction advice, and using it does not create any professional or advisory relationship. We are not physicians, occupational therapists, contractors, or licensed inspectors. Before making health decisions, consult a qualified professional. Before making structural or electrical changes to a home, hire a licensed, insured contractor. You are responsible for verifying that any product or modification is appropriate and safe for your specific situation.
Home modifications and physical changes carry inherent risk. You assume all risk associated with acting on any suggestion in your report, and you agree to use qualified professionals where appropriate. The Independent Home is not responsible for the work of any third-party contractor or vendor.
The Independence Blueprint is a one-time digital purchase at the price shown at checkout (currently a discounted prelaunch price). Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card details. All prices are in U.S. dollars. We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect a purchase already completed.
Because the report is personalized, it is prepared and delivered to the email address you provide, typically within a few business days of purchase. Please ensure your email address is correct and check your spam folder if you do not see it.
We want you to feel the report was worth it. If you are not satisfied, contact us at hello@independenthomeplan.com within 14 days of delivery and we will work with you or issue a refund. Because the report is a personalized digital product, refunds are handled case by case at our reasonable discretion.
Your report is licensed to you for your own personal, non-commercial use. All content on the Site and within the reports — text, design, scoring methodology, and branding — is owned by The Independent Home and may not be copied, resold, or redistributed without permission.
You agree not to misuse the Site, attempt to disrupt it, or use it for any unlawful purpose. You agree the information you provide in the audit is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
The Site and Services are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Independent Home and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the Site, the report, or any modification you undertake. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version, and continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
